Sara

She found a small brook
hidden in the thick
of the forest whose boundary
separated her from reality.

It was her favorite place
to find solitude from tribulations
that shadowed her life with
whispers echoing relentlessly.

Knees hugged close
with entwined fingers
she swaddles
her weeping inner child.

Gazing into the crystal pool
she watches water flow
kissed by light skimming
across rocks smooth and sleek.

It was those moments when life
reflected things as they should be,
pure and simple with sounds
so synchronized, one could hear

the melodies of nature nurturing
its wounds. She could feel its arms
consoling as it took and gave life.
These were the moments she lived for,

to feel and embrace the gentle gifts of life.
