shadows in time
hung like
deserted sheer
over decades
ripped with moth eaten holes
and wind blowing through
thick green
making arches to nowhere
perticular
only a vision
I walked barefeet as
normally i do
over concrete and brickroads
it helps i suppose to feel the thickness
their is a rich-ness here
of color
of a warmth
that surpass
all of the surrounding areas
and i am drawn to it
as if my description hasn't explained why....
for i know in one lifetime or another
i will walk up this way and
disappear

massive landscapes
(as massive as the inner-city would allow)
shield ghalkers
in their greedy desires
for theirs aren't as pure
as mine
they don't appreciate
the majesty here
they only want for
Jones sake
for i know in my heart of hearts
that a great history
stood here
this is the spot of spots
for great good or evil
(for which the magnitude could have been great as well)
i can't tell
for i not know on which side i reside
anymore
funny thing about time
it switches
right and wrongs as household lights
one thing is for certain
i am here
and in another
minute
i shall cease to be

i believe it will end
like a tale
of magnificent
moon~glows
martyrzing me
then again ~ suspensives
of bright sunlighting
me as only an image
that has returned
home
seers being non-believers
and i am never heard of again

feet directly
on ground
Spirits lined and hung down
i am here now
and the seconds comes and goes as always
secretly silent sounds
and....

What a great urbanite-influenced poem. Absolutely stunning in its acceptance of what destiny lies ahead. Very precise in describing brick and mortar of this concrete world and what it might have been before. A wonderful poem, Mitzi, that says volumes about your own personal wants and desires and demons. Write on!

Wish I could just crib Eileen's review here, Mitzi! A compelling and soft write, but at the same time with a haunting edge to it that you can't escape. A mesmerizing piece which is dreamy yet thought-provoking at the same time - a difficult balance mastered well. Thank you for this. Kate xx

Dear Mitzi, this is a very deep and introspective poem. Like all of us you can see an end in sight. And this end becomes more vidid as time marches on. Yes, whenever it happens it is just one second here and one second gone. The hands of time have an inexorable will of their own sweetheart, and the movement never stops ... just one second of infinity. Hugs Bill
