gray is the color of the day
this morning
reminding me of
soot
covered people
runnin' and cryin' and
layin' and dyin'
shocking as silver
spranging across the sky
with all the noise
I never felt such silence....
and there is a light
shinning so bright
that no one seems to realize
it is so bright
the true animals cover their ears
it is so bright that by most
it is unseen
and we whisper so loud
that our words becomes screams
mockin' the mockers
is the topic of the years...to come
standing brave and shallow
blinking from pride to pain
from insecurity to blame
and just plain numb
Sh.......hear em'
..........together we stand
............divided we fall
.......Together WE Stand
.........Divided WE Fall
..TOGETHER WE STAND
...DIVIDED WE FALL

Pat"riot"ism is not enough
Ignorance and War doesn't = Peace
righting our wrongs
and that is not cured with money!!!
thought it was the same old party line till i came to this stanza, which might even be best put at the top: gathering in remembrance

Powerful! I love the way this flowed to the rhythm of the emotions.
