 You promised you would love me

 But you didn’t give a dam.

 You promised me your true heart

 I got the back of your hand.

 

 OH Well    OH Well

 

 I took you down to Tony’s

 You were drinking vodka neat.

 You sent me for cigarettes

 And you gave away my seat.

 

 OH Well    OH Well

 

 When the bar was closing down

 I saw you go out the door.

 But I had a new lover

 To be mine for evermore.
