I saw you there
Mother of God I saw you there!
Sitting at ‘our’ table
In front of the Café Francois
You were as beautiful
As you were many years
Ago before your tragic death
Yet I saw you there today!
Your dress, light blue, the
Dress you knew was my favorite.
Around your neck was the tiny golden necklace
I had given you on our anniversary
I gazed at you and you looked
At me with the tenderness of
Eternal Love. I tried to call your name
I tried to run to you. I could make
No sound or motion. Then you were gone.
Somehow I made my way to the table
And sipped your drink ‘Pinot Noir’ and
I tasted your lips and I knew that
You will be there for me
When I am welcomed by
The Lord.
