Winter Morning

The sun breaks over the horizon
And flings its
Molten gold
On every tree top,
Every snowy ridge,
And every crystal spear.

More brilliantly it glows.
The ochre lava flows down the sparkling snow,
Whipped into phantom waves by the wind.

It pierces the hearts of the glassy cones –
Casting a rainbow.
