'Making the wind and the rain' is a Far Eastern metaphor for 'intimate lovemaking'. What follows is a computer-generated poem I produced many years ago that was composed by throwing arbitrary bits of computer language together in a data base. It still amazes me to see what a microprocessor created with just a bit of human prompting.

Making the Wind and the Rain
Wind of the Is, dance with the rain.
Drops of the rare and precious water
Fall on the dry sand, emptiness.
Wind of the Is began its trip
In the fragrant orient. In streams of air
Far above green Canadian forests
It continued its flight.
Wind of the Is shakes the sky
Above the desolation, drinking of dry sand
And refreshed with water it has created
By its thunder and light.
The sand waits patiently
For another tryst, pleasured by
The unexpected attentions of
The Wind of the Is.
