Is it the many empty bottles of wine
and the way the moon shines;
the starry look in your eye,
that I have to kiss you one more time?
Because it is here in this dark green
field
I could bend down to kneel,
though it doesn't seem real,
but you broke through my shield.
Or is it the smell of rain in May
after a long hazy day,
plus everything you say,
That I am, in fact, blown away?
But oh, how my skin melts,
while Mariah sings for help,
and tenderness is felt
But all doubts are shelved
For this one moment of splendor
Where I can sense our hearts render
Into something worth surrender
Because evil is now slender
Compared to the forces here
Even though Love can sear,
we can hold Love without fear
and no one has to shed a tear.
Still, it is the peak of the night!
Your eyes are still bright;
Love is still right,
and the sun is nowhere in sight.
But I don't know what it is
That makes me feel uninhibited.
That makes us feel like kids;
Makes us see through the glitz.
But if you want to hear the truth
I say, maybe it is you!
Or a love-drunk night overdue?
Perhaps a combination of the two.
