When we have pain or torment in our lives just think and mediate ,
Of how it must have felt for him to have carried that awful weight .
Condemned to death upon a cross , but don’t you think that’s so unfair ?
Jesus said to learn from him because his load is easy to bear .
So when we’re burdened by a cross that we find too hard to carry ,
Remember the long and rocky path that he walked to Calvary .
With his strength gone , he couldn’t carry on and he fell to the ground .
Like a worm in the dirt , he was crushed and hurt but still made no sound .
Jesus unites his sufferings , to the things that we must go through .
In our weakness he can give us strength , to do what we have to do .
Weep not in sorrow when things go wrong , but pray for the gift of grace .
Christ himself could not see but Veronica wiped blood from his face .
Sometimes like Veronica we need to wipe blindness from our eyes ,
And ask God to show us the way ahead and teach us to be wise .
As Christ fell to the rocky ground , the soldiers kicked him and whipped him ,
They spat on him and mocked him ,they abused him and crucified him .
They pierced his side with a spear and then gave him vinegar to drink
So when you feel forgotten or rejected in life ,
stop and think .
From the cross he said ,
Father forgive them they know not what they do .
Then he breathed his last and died .
He did all this for me and for you .
