Poem tribute to Boston

It’s a Boston Feeling

.
I woke up there in Boston
it must have been the sound of a half million
beating hearts in the morning coming down .
I opened up my eyes as the sun
began to rise .
In April Boston people put on a brave disguise .

I fell in love with Boston
it must have been the face of someone
that I’ve never met
who lives here in this place .
She softly kissed my head and quietly she said , today on the streets of Boston
Jesus wept and bled .

Boston’s blood and tears ,
are shed for the living .
Crying out for years ,
we all need forgiven .
The beginning of a Boston feeling .
It’s a time to be free ,
its a time for healing .
its a Boston feeling.

There were sirens everywhere
and the smoke began to rise ,
I never saw it happen and then I realised ,
there were injured all around ,
lying on the ground ,
somehow on the streets of Boston ,
mercy had been found .

Heaven help me Boston ,
I’ve got to carry on ,
I’m looking for a stranger
and I don’t know where she’s gone .
She kissed me on the street
and she talks so soft and sweet ,
she’s an angel in Boston
and she helped me to my feet .
