With life due here on earth nine months before the birth
I’ll tell you it was a very nerve wrecking time.
With quiet reservations and everyone’s expectations
hoping everything will be fine .
Walking around for weeks on end
and talking up the positive inside sure it will be ok .
So around the corner we go as tears flow and cravings grow
Getting more pregnant everyday .
Though confidence is low and sick with worry,
I don’t want any feelings of despair start to show .
Waiting for any sign of life ,
a kick or morning sickness would be just enough to let me know . A baby is growing inside .
With pride I saw an ultrasound that settled any fears I had .
Time ticked away a little overdue
But my wife became a Mother and I became a Dad .
I looked at a much more contented and cuddled my no longer pregnant beautiful darling wife .
Struck as if by a bolt from the blue
We stood there with a our new born baby ,
So much a part of life .
