A rhyming poem addressing the lies many Republican voters believe.

Seven years ago when Obama was elected,
gun-toting Bubbas across the nation were told
that the government for sure could be expected
to come confiscate every gun from their household.

These misled souls ran out and bought guns, guns
by the tens of millions, guns in record number,
plus ammo to stockpile and hoard by the tons.
Will Obama come his final year they now wonder.
(The gun/ammo makers gleefully bank their plunder.)

Obama isn’t a true citizen of the United States
they were also told. He was born in Kenya for sure.
Thinking this black man isn’t legit really resonates
with this crowd. This lie for them has great allure.

President Obama is really a Muslim in his belief
many of them swear. Never you mind that the man
drinks beer, eats pork, is beardless, gives no relief
to Muslim terrorist leaders but instead kills all he can.

Elect us one more time and we’ll repeal Obamacare
the Republicans promise voters. Just ignore this
will be our 56th attempt and we’re quite aware
there’s no chance of success; this fact you’ll dismiss.

Lowering taxes on the elite richest class,
keeping wages low, soon eliminating both
Social Security and Medicare at long last,
fracking and Big Oil all are vital to your growth.

One cannot keep from pondering how much longer
these Bubbas will allow their being played for fools
by refusing to question why only the rich get stronger.
When will they see spreading lies are the rich’s tools?
