The poem reflects on the theme of patriotism and the impact of societal expectations on an individual's sense of identity and loyalty. It presents the speaker's struggle with the idea of being labeled a traitor for expressing their own views and questions the destructive consequences of blindly following authority.

The clouds loom ahead,

The journey may not end.
But it is not my wish
To relish
A salute to the flag.

Am I a traitor?
Is freedom just a riot?
Sing with me,
Through the green and white signs of our destination,
Paying homage to the banner.

It surrounds us,
Coercing us
To embrace the patriot spirit,
With a decree,
Where justice is buried
In rhetoric and desecrated.

Am I an ungrateful wretch?
A traitor?
Please, sing with me.

For the fatherland,
The motherland -
It doesn't matter now.
I too am a traitor,
Never by choice,
But by the disdain of the impostor.

So speak your mind,
Savor freedom,
It doesn't matter anymore.
I will raise my voice and ask:

Oh mighty warrior,
Where is your assurance
Of free will that will never die?
All I see now is destruction.
