Our local newspaper book review editor sent this message to poets in his column last week. Part of his message said:
"Don't send me rhyming poetry. I've been drowning in it. I'm sick of it. I won't print it. I won't even read it beyond your first couplet. I'm serious."
The only type of poetry for me is the prose that comes right from the poet's heart. I can enjoy and critique all types of poetry lines whether haiku, free-form or rhymes. My best to you.
I like reading ALL forms of poetry, although I seem more at home writing "free style." That guy is in the wrong buisness, and is doing poets a great diservice.
i seldom rhyme because the words don't come to me that way, but it is a serious form of poetry, not to be ignored or neglected. however, that said....i'm so glad to see prose poetry accepted and asked for even!! YES...
