no shock to see
waves lapping,
wooden docks slapped happy
by filtered green, the blue sky
cloudy, the sun refracting
rainbows in puddles, but briefly;
most people climb onto sailboats,
keels deep in clarity, all prepared
for wind;
the storm
approaches,
west winds whipping sails, skippers dogging
passengers to hurry, all rain drops big
and blasting splotches on cotton
shirts advertising fun,
with fantasy gambling down the highway,
free lunches for all.
Your imagery is superb," Keels deep in clarity " Rainbows in puddles." all make this poem stand out as a pure gem, in a mind rich with seasoned thoughts.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.

So many clever lines in this richly illustrated, well written piece but these are my favorites
"...wooden docks, slapped happy..."
"...blasting splotches on cotton..."
Yes, it came vividly to life in my mind. Thank you! A perfect summer day, as imaged by you!
