getcha some fine morning on a
Saturday work begun in earnest
effort maybe a bit of carpentry
on tree choppin’ perhaps a window needin’ some flashing
on a back door shimmed too loose, too tight,
too much cold air pushing under doorways, but the moment
looked for the needed implement
comes up missin’ and only the shop
down Clinton Street offers
hope if it’ll take a dollar or two for some steel
whirligig or hammer to make
the day all pleasant again.
Yes, that old law can take our pleasure away,and hit us
when we can least afford it...Eileen

Let's see where was I before I got a spam message on this one. This is very different and an interesting poem to read. Sorry that box came up but as always a very good read.
