To Live Again

hot mustard on hot dogs
the zing of goose liver on rye
a touch of purity
the Artie Shaw CD
and over in the corner,
one lost toy,
captured from flames,
its tires smelling
of fossils off the Dead Sea,
millions of years ago
petroleum was a living thing
like you, like my grand-daughter
now playing a quick game
of croquet,
all jumbled inside,
so excited by warm summer air.

Larry,

JAYS the way you write--one experiences each word--fantastic imagery!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)

Ah, you capture so well here that most peculiar frisson that can quicksilver through our very core, triggered solely by the sense of smell. It is the most sensuous and evocative of all our senses, I think and triggers memory more readily than anything else, I think. A wonderful portrait of life, past and present that is wholly animated by your sharp observations and acute, sparse writing. Love your style, Larry. TY Kate xx

You take your readers "into the moment," Larry. Nicely done. Love and peace. Regis
