Caught on Tape
bastard jumping, a mid-air
flaunting of the gun,
blurred by fast motion,
but there, hanging
for just a second,
disappearing in action, cash register
stubborn, holding onto the electric
socket, and the counter an
obstacle to smooth passage, anger
winning out, plunging the trigger three times,
light-flashes
registering on retinas,
but cash money hard to pry
from fingers too cold,
too frightened to give.
