if you have forsaken us,
allowing mine fields to explode
and speeding cars to spew bullets,
what must we think of your love?
morbid at the very least,
such love punishes all
for ancient transgressions.
even teachers in the school
know punishing the class
for one child’s error
is vain and over-reaching.
so why do we accept
the pain, the agony of your
silence, the cruelty of blood-smeared
death smashing hopes, dreams
and little bodies,
while all too willing to forgive
our silent god?

God is not silent it is that we are to busy talking that we do not listen when he is speaking. That includes me.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).

The temporary misery compared to eternal happiness is the
wise persons choice!
