in strawberries, conjuring
motives, murder,
muddy water.
but lives cannot
be lived again
and mistakes
we made haunt
the present.
turning to tea leaves
and schnauzers for
answers just seems
befuddled.
but Popes still
get elected.
the smoke
still puffs black
or gray,
and cowards search
for their reflections
