Snip and Tuck

pride and self-image,
both so important for the pretty Asian,
down from Sedalia to the big
city looking for the Plaza doctor.

no danger thoughts now,
mind free,
clear as azure sky.

beauty recognizes no race,
no religion, sprinkling
favors on few.

but the surgical procedure
seems easy, a snip, a tuck,
and the form is
what was meant to be,

scar line below the breasts,
secreted away like some
grade card hidden from view.

a T-shirt reveals perfection,
and home she goes, showing off
her breasts, a new world promised,
her smile wide with delight.

Well they won't be snipping and tucking on me because I had enough of surgery to save my life. But this was an interesting poem

Larry,

Too much snippin and tuckin goin on nowadays--whatever happened to accepting yourself as you are???? Sad commentary on what people are willing to do for beauty. Had a neighbor, 52 years old, DIE as a result of a face lift--it didn't get her anywhere but six feet under. A powerful write, as always--thank you

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

Hear it's rocky weatherwise--stay safe. Glad you're back--hope you're staying????
