oh no, not again the Mugwump’s
stuck, stinging his pride,
but straddling
monster fences
must be evil,
nowhere to go, but down.
his loud voice brings
cheer and oatmeal; leave it to
meg and mark to bring
his songs back
from Hawaii where the roiling
waves seem creamy and slippery enough
to move people right and left,
no one suspecting mugwumps
providing lyrics to be
anything at all
but ciphers, their tunes teasing
men to bask in valleys,
their beliefs running up traces
of smoke and disappearing
in skies of black and blue.
Okay had to look "Canticle" and "Mugwump" up in the dictionary to understand this better...but I laughed so much for what I thought it meant and what it actially did mean that I lost my words along those "monster fences" lol!!
