garden plots wet with rain, morning
mist prevents mower’s morning blast,
the tour of plant-life provides
highlights yet,
mums declining, colors blending,
roses last hue a pink and
then bright yellow, the elephant ears folded
not hearing much but tender drops of rain
and above the roof a darkening sky before
we shut the door and retreat to windows,
letting the cold hard rain come
down in gusty wind.
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
Love Tinka
good one!
