I’m not sure what was expected, what
I even wanted, her face so close to mine,
her hands tight, her grasp
on my wrist promising,
and I pulled back, not allowing her;
not inadvertently, as if she
might relax, her hold strengthened,
her nails drew blood.
what did she want?
I didn’t know, I looked into green eyes,
the intensity there a brilliant orange,
the green-orange too much
for any man, cut wrists
burning with salt, each new
movement met
with a kiss, each new thought
stifled by her tears.
Positively adrenalin-pumping, Larry! Is this a case of fight or flight? Yes, such situations are hugely intense and perhaps scarey when they arise out of confusion - and usually result in devastation. Not sure whether you need a drink after this or have maybe had one too many..?? On the other hand, could just be your pet feline reminding you her cat bowl is empty... Good to see you maintain your verve and your edge... tennis, too! :)) K xx
