onto the cold street walked
the self-absorbed, a crowd of twisted
souls, each saying dude and
how’s it goin'.
not one smiled, not one seemed
human, except in form,
and outfits ranged
from black to dark red, and
names exchanged included
Blu and the terrible Red.
teeth seemed rotten or yellow,
and headsets played selfishly in only
the owners’ ears, for sharing was meant
for others, those happy
with pastels, not those seeing
death in every sarcasm, every bitter
tool used to separate themselves
into gloom.
