The old bar napkin trick and a pencil,
The woman keyed up with romantic hopes,
The poet glowing in a yellow light,
Each leaden word racing across
Tissue, his elbow knocking
Against the bottle,
Spilling golden liquid
Over a destructive path.
Well ... considering that an "Idiot Savant" is a person who is mentally retarded, in general, but shows aptitude usually in the area of memory, I find your tongue in cheek write about poets as idiot savants refreshing and hilarious. I know too many word puppet poets that adhere to this description.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
