rip the petals off and paste the stem upside
down in that place you reserve for memories
irreplaceable, you know, the prom dance
you slept through after
drinking so much at Bob’s house
and then waking after midnight, calling that friend
of yours with the pink dress you
promised a corsage, that night, remember
now, when your car wouldn’t start and the battery died and
most of your fears escaped while you never
sat down once, running all the way to her
house, wanting to explain, but no one
answered the door.
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
