The Past Is Gone Grasping, our nightmares filled With tragic scenes, each Dream forcing a new look At the old. We can’t go back again, there’s No room for us. Each exciting Spirit a phantom from What could have been. Such an urging to return Bodes ill for our futures, No one can save it all, These mystic dreams Are gone. Turn away from backward Thoughts, no one can Be free if ghosts ensnare us. Reflect a while, pause, And see the brightness, Throw out the cobwebs From the cellar. Don’t Disturb the dead.
