Some chemical reaction
Initiated eons ago
When mating became
Ritualized.
Potions can be made or
Purchased, these little
Parties advertised in Science
Monthly or Romance
Illustrated.
I knew nothing of these
Concoctions, and I entered relationships,
Felt a buzz or not.
Weren’t the hormones
Working or wasn’t the
Trigger positioned properly?
But there came a day
When we were introduced,
Something in the air,
Some strange vibration
Causing dizziness,
A loss of memory,
An urge for closer contact.
But if I had a video
Of that encounter, and if
I could rewind the entire event,
Would I see your magic
Or would I simply
Fall again, utterly under
