long winter nights and feelings
of impotence, urgings to do
something, Emerson called
quiet desperation.
police rushing by on empty streets,
their destination known, they
can strike at evil and be done,
but quiet musings of future
happiness move little,
and gallop like the grass.
when these longed for vistas
remain so taut, when legs of iron
seem so molten, the photo finish
wished for comes unglued, and new
adventures forget attachments
in albums in melting hot sun.
It is always an indeed pleasure to read such fine well written artistic work. I love coming out to my favorite den where you all inspire me so much every day. What I read share and know is such a wonderful view. Stay focused and always write on.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Inspirational poetry, written from the heart and soul. Verses that are well-suited for reading on a rainy day and that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
