a soothing depth of romance,
layered more, more,
as you listen, textured
with nuance as differing motions
twitch musically somewhere
deep, images return of better
not bitter times, a world
with swaying tree limbs full
with ripe green leaves,
a breeze caressing
not mussing your hair, an
excitement of meeting someone
new, a person bright, humorous,
romantic, yes, but not
sexual, not physical
at all, more a memory
from some wonder year,
the city streets busy
with foot traffic
and all the couples
holding hands, their
laughter tinged not
by sadness but
by hopeful desire.
