no doubt "at nest" seems
ancient, something weird
before the oceans stopped
jumping and cataclysmic
danger passed.
but, yes, nesting still
occurs, most humans still sitting
in front of flickering light,
cozying up in jammies,
loading down fried chicken
while watching Big Brother,
living vicariously off
others being psychologically
plumbed...
for money.
What else? it makes our
world go round, it inflates,
deflates, gives us
pleasure and
Chicken McNuggets. For most humans,
nesting provides moments
of fun away from combat, real
combat, that is,
unless domestic disturbances
count, and they do for one
man stabbed fifteen times
in a battle
with his wife
over a drum-stick.
So, count that domestic
as aberration, just a fun-loving
frolic during Hell's Kitchen
when Chef Ramsey was
right on form, annoyed
royally by a monk fish
(not Mr. Monk),
plagued by poor cooks
and CR's own fowl
four-letter words.
