Santa Tames the Wolf

it's really better,
more politically correct, if
the wolf doesn't die,
in "Peter and the Wolf,"
and then get carted off.

and Santa, being a nice
kinda guy, usually
wept when animals got
killed during "Peter,"
so using his influence
he began
a change
a movement
a cause
and he called it,
"Save a Wolf,"
or SAW for short.

now wolves can't be found
often, and when they are
located, well, they're in
some zoo
or in Kansas,
so SAW had
a tough few months,
no wolves were saved,
just a few foxes in
bikinis, and Mrs.
Clause objected to them
sharing her bedroom,
so Santa let those babes go,
and come to find out, wolves
are usually men anyway.

but one day, he and his elf
Peter (quite a good name,
appropriate, don't you think?)
found a starving wolf in Alaska
quite near a tuna village,
and Pete and Santa took him in,
gave him some soup, and
belted him on the old sleigh
next to Prancer (Vixen objected
to no avail) and took off toward the moon,
but woe was Santa when
it became
all too apparent
all too strange
all too wrong
when Wolfie
began to howl at the moon (and
it didn't help that Wolfie
bit off Prancer's left leg
either, but then that's
another story).

Anyway, Santa landed immediately,
grabbed his shotgun and killed
that freakin' wolf.

Now, his new organization is still
named SAW but it means
Shoot A Wolf (sorry, poor
wolf, but you didn't react
well in flight.)

The moral of this story - fly right, or suffer at whim. (SAW) it coming?

God bless you. Kathy
