the late night blues,
a phone call,
and a trip down the rolling
hill onto the clean
damp grass, a bedroll
under my arm.
easy to do, the nights
darker now in fall,
the trees limping
in stagnation, each
brown leaf tempting
gravity and plump
raked piles offering
comfort.
meeting her in the dark,
what a hoot, her blouse
already unbuttoned
and her sumptuous red
hair covering her
breasts till my warm
hands can hold
her arms and
bring her down
to me.
