Rain portends romantic interlude
Filled with anticipation of delirious solitude
Nature’s droplets bring hope and renewal
For lives once lost, now an exquisite jewel
Tin roofs and downs’-filled covers
Leave me in a trance with a special lover
Rain strips away all pretense
Leaving one only core substance
Water simplifies and makes us whole again
Washes, refreshes, and strips away our sins
Pure liquid life giving and free
Nature’s gift for you and me
Rain fills my heart with love
A canopy of light dimmed from above
Simple sounds, repetitive and harmonious
Rock me back and forth, remove what is odious
Take me away from a life of vagary
Cast out any doubt and misery
Rain prepares the way
For those of us who wish to pray
His tears shed for all who choose to believe
A remarkable love for you and me
Rain is a gift to us all
Lift up your heart and hear the call
its raining here, hope it works for me but i doubt it

I always like to see poems about rain and how each author handles the subject. We saw a lot of it here and your poem is very unique which is a quality that I like.
