I lift my hands up
Bring praise with this cup
The wine bitter, but sweet
My knees prostrate at your feet
Bread broken for me
I face the cross on bended knee
Preachers come to shout and warn
To mend broken spirits of those forlorn
Words spoken to set us free
But to hear we must believe
Too often our ears are deaf
Your message lost on souls now dead
Pierce my heart Emmanuel
Unto my spirit please indwell
Rip these chains from my wrists
Remove all doubt from this atheist
Repent and turn away from sin
Hearts grow weary, patience wears thin
Until that promised day comes true
My heart and soul belongs to you
Fear and shame removed forever
From those masks worn so clever
Shout praise to the Holy One
The Messiah and God’s only son
