Connecticut hills call me home again
My soul forever refreshed and cleansed
People who say what they mean
Where harsh winters hide the green
Spruce trees and barns dot the landscape
Where one chooses not to escape
White flakes renew my soul
Brings together the young and old
A warm hearth for memories to share
By folks who seem to really care
Home-cooked meals served with love
Stories told of those who live above
A solid life of work and prayer
By honest people who love and care
Respect God’s gifts given to those
Who believe in forgiveness before they repose
Patches of white signal spring
Flowers in bloom and birds who sing
People who respect and work the land
Carry on family traditions and give a hand
To neighbors who share the belief
That we live in a world without deceit
God bless our ancestors who dared to dream
To provide a better life in this grand scheme
