Pencils sharpened and out of reach
She arrives at dawn prepared to teach
Papers marked with a red pen
Students hone their skills again
A teacher’s job is never done
No time for family, our heroes unsung
Classrooms our first foray
To stand up and have our say
Discussion intended for everyone
But back in the corner there sits one
His silent world demands his time
For he’s autistic—is that a crime?
He sits alone and does not fret
Experts say it might be Tourettes
His world we cannot see
While others point out his OCD
Polysyllabic diagnoses forever prevail
But do not capture this fragile male
At the precise moment the teacher connects
And two lives now intersect
His eyes now track her face
As the teacher invades his holy space
Teachers are an extraordinary breed
For children with special needs

This is a rare teacher, but such a one, connects forever and the student is grateful.
The autistic require a special person to connect. Praise be to the teacher that can.

I am so glad that the teachers now see the children that have problems such as this. I believe that Einstein was also autustic or was it dyplexsic? But he and Churchill overcame problesm like this. Thanks for the write.
