Beneath The Lilac Tree

Out for a blissful walk one Spring morning with my Love... blossom falling gently upon us. We pause awhile beneath a lovely Lilac tree...

BENEATH THE LILAC TREE

Soft sweet kisses
                            Beneath the Lilac tree.

Almond blossom,
                             Swirling on the gentle breeze
Catches our hair like confetti.
A day of bridal innocence.
This beautiful morn is perfect,
Perfect like the Love whose eyes I gaze into.
Deep Amber pools of mystery,
How I love those eyes deep and tender,
How I love you.
Our life meanders here and there,
But our route the Light,
                                       The wonderful, brilliant Light
That illuminates the world.
This Light bathes our struggles,
                                                    Our joys, our tears,
Steers us back on course
Towards our river of deepening destiny.
Our Life’s True Purpose beckons…….
But here on this beautiful Spring day,
All I want is you,
You, and your soft, sweet kisses,
Soft, sweet kisses,
                              Beneath the sweetest Lilac tree.

I loved this sweet and beautiful love poem. As a lover of lilacs I can still smell the sweetness as it would come through the open window. Great poem and great memories.

Very ethereal and magnificent in imagery. I know that had to have been very special to you to put it to verse so beautifully.

Diana,

There is nothing more pleasant than the fragrance that comes from the blossom of a lilac tree, except perhaps being kissed by the one we hold so dear in our heart. May you continue to have your lilac tree to enjoy for both its sweet aroma and fond memories forever.
