So lovely..."Peace within the rain," evoked for me happy memories...when I felt protected by the gentle drops that fell. Thank you for your poem...it touched my heart.
I have always loved going for a walk in a warm gentle rain. I might have trouble getting out of wet clothes afterwards, but the walks are always peaceful. This was an enjoyable read.
I think you need to have a metal awning constructed. And then, on rainy days invite your grandchildren over to play in the rain in your yard a while and then come close to sit in your lap while you tell them stories about how it used to be when you were with your Nan. Unfortunately they will have to put down their smartphones while you do this.
