I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES. I BELIEVE, IN FACT...I KNOW, LOVE CAN HAPPEN INSTANTLY AND LAST(IF WE 'TEND IT')A LIFE TIME. 'I LOVE YOU SO...' WHAT'S SO SAD ABOUT THIS STATEMENT IS UNLESS BOTH ARE FEELING THE SAME...ONE IS DEFINITELY GOING TO GET HURT. SO, WAS IT LOVE OR WAS IT LUST? REAL LOVE IS COMPRISED OF BOTH AND WHO CAN FAULT THE NAIVE ONE WHO CHOOSES TO REACH FOR WHAT THEY ARE CONVINCED IS...LOVE? THANK GOD FOR HEALING...THE DISAPPOINTMENT AND PAIN DOESN'T LAST FOREVER. AND EVENTUALLY, OVER TIME AND WISER, ONE WILL BE ABLE TO COME TO THE CONCLUSION... BETTER TO HAVE LOVED AND LOST, THEN NOT TO HAVE LOVED AT ALL. THE PHOTO GOT ME, DIANA. I MEAN...WHO CANNOT RELATE? This poem is similar to little girls jumping rope on the school playground, all the while, repeating their chant over and over. Although the wording is a bit mature for their age group, the cadence of four syllables per line is kept the same throughout, except the last line which is eight syllables, but the rhythm itself is maintained. Further, with the last line, “at 3am he’s out the door...” that girl moves out, and the next girl comes in. Symbolically, the man has one love after another. Apologies for adding two lines of my own. I simply got caught up in the rhythm of it all. I really liked this one a lot.
So true. But the natural tendency of human beings is simply that way. Our survival depended upon it, and society tries to curtail it, while looking the other way. Men will always attempt, often against their own will, to impregnate as many women as possible. While women, try desperately to hold on to the alpha male, in their opinion, and have a nest for their children.
The primary cause for divorce today. And the source of rich lawyers, heartbreak, economic loss, and confused children.
This is such an accurate description of "lust" in the crude.
Who can deny that it describes man (the beast) about 90 percent of the time? Whether the other 10 percent is enough for the world is problematic. But what a sensational poem!

Wow! You really captured the double standards of what men and women say and how promises made are as easily broken. Sadly in this day and age of internet chicanery both sexes are often mislead in this way although also sadly it is the male gender who are mostly at fault.
