It’s that spooky time of year again!
Watch out!!!

Poem Artwork

 Eve of Halloween...

Ooh for the eve of Halloween

when witches fly and things unseen

go bump in the night and make us dream

of ghouls and Graveyards,

spooks and screams...

Deep in the woods the Cauldron boils,

and cackling Crones scare girls and boys..

Hubble Bubble, eye of Newt,

and in the trees an eerie Hoot.

The scene is set for ghostly stuff

and sparks and spells which in a 'poof'

can turn a Mouse into a Bat,

or barking dog into a Cat.

Run and hide this sacred night

when the veil is thinned

for Spectres flight.....

The Moon is full

Did you hear that scream...?

Run for your life...

IT'S HALLOWEEN!!

THEY HARDLY KNOW HOW TO CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN ANYMORE, DIANA. WHEN I WAS A KID(I'M SOON TO BE 78, SMILE)HALLOWEEN NIGHT FOUND GOBLINS, WITCHES, ANGELS, FAIRIES AND THE LIKE...DONNED WITH PARENTS ATTIRE AND PAINTED FACES WITH MOM'S COSMETICS....UNATTENDED. IT DIDN'T 'COST' ANYTHING EITHER. 'CAUSE IT WAS ALL ABOUT GETTING THE SWEETS AND SCREAMING AND RUNNING SAFELY, WHILE DODGING THE HITS FROM SOCKS FILLED WITH COLORED POWDERED CHALK IN NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS...THAT TOLD THE STORY FOR DAYS AFTER. THOSE WERE THE DAYS, BUT IT'S NOT LIKE THAT ANYMORE...IT'S BECOME SO COMMERCIALIZED. ADULTS ARE MORE INTO IT THAN THE KIDS, WITH TAINTED CANDY ETC, AND I HAVE TO SAY MANIPULATIVE HEARTS, HAVING TO BE CONSIDERED...WHILE ONE ENDEAVORS TO KEEP THE LITTLE ONES AND THEMSELVES SAFE AND LIVE. AN ENJOYED NOSTALGIC SHARING, THANKS, DIANA. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

I don’t know how I missed this one, for it is absolutely delightful! I love it! 😵‍💫🤯😱
You should write a Halloween book for children. They would love it. Having taught school, I know the kind of books/stories they like, and it’s “Eve of Halloween” they like better than anything. I think you have a natural talent for it. Do you have all your writing materials collected? And are you in a quiet place where others don’t have easy access to you? Don’t get too comfy, or you will be falling asleep all over the place. Oh, Diana, you can do it! You have my sincere confidence in your ability. I don’t have an ounce of confidence in myself, but I have all the confidence in the world when it comes to my appreciation of your abilities. Can I say more? I certainly can, and will, if the need arises.

A very melodic poem with just the right cadance. In fact, those lines would be GREAT in a children’s book. When read aloud they have even MORE charm and play. Well done* ~~ djl
