Thinking of wildflowers that line the highways in the spring
My beautiful wildflower
all pretty in pink
budding before my eyes
wild and untamed
seemingly unaffected
by all of life’s strife’s
Oh, wildflower
reaching for the sun
growing stronger
from its rays
bowing down to the pain
of rain
thumping upon your head
my beautiful wildflower
you disappear
every year
but yet you return
as always—
beautiful and untamed.
