Just a few words on how the mind can cripple a person.
Sometimes in life, people want to be free, free from things in our psyche that keep us in captivity Sometimes we watch life, love and happiness pass us by never stopping to question why. I’ve witnessed an imprisoned heart desiring love unable to express it Bleeding from within never releasing those feelings for fear of rejection and degradation Sometimes self-defeating thoughts and memories can keep you locked up unable to break out and fly free Freedom is not always something to be granted by another, sometimes we must release ourselves from the mental prisons that have kept us captive for years— but then some of us serve life sentences. Wow, that last line is so deep sista! I love it!!! I agree that we have to break free of those mental chains is we are truly going to live in freedom. I put it this way, save nothing because you can't save your own life you just have to spend it the best way possible because it is all we have on this Earth that's truly worth something everday we wake up. Again, Powerful Piece & Write on My Sista!

This poem reflects the truth about the self-defeating mind, and the way ones social environment may play a role in molding and breeding this mental prison. Some people are serving life sentences, and others are on death row may I add as a comment. Very well done Lavendar Jazz.
