Here I stand alone, in the middle of the night
On a hill top
Under the shed of tall green trees
Where I love to be
With the cool wind going through my hair
Wonderful stars shining
My eyes focusing at the lights ahead
Making the city so magnificent
None of these beautiful things can change
The way that I feel
Nothing can change the torment
I have experienced

I realize my heart can take no more, I decided
My mind has held enough
I know that someone exists somewhere
Somewhere I know not now
Someone I will know someday
And I will remember today

In the middle of the night
Still standing, alone
There is every reason to feel happy
A reason to go on
I know that someday I will find
Someone, somewhere
Someone with a wind of change
And we will both come here
I will have every reason to remember
This day
