                  Color  of  Young

Green is the valley where the child in us lolls,
happy with a dandelion and a little slice of sun.

Green is the hill leading up in time
to see if a cow with  milk chocolate eyes

will stand still for a pat.  Green is the cool
dapple of water in a stream  bed  that invites

a wade to look for a tadpole.   Glows
as it grows and does not wash out.

Color your sky with your bluest crayon, or
the silver one with the fresh point  to bring back

a sweet shower.  Make the ground cocoa, licorice,
orange.   Swirl  the reds and golds of autumn

or the whites, creams, and ivories of a winter
snow, or use the whole box to dot on spring

flowers.  Most of all, remember green.   Green,
whether forest, emerald, leprechaun, lime,

or chartreuse, after all remembers you.

I love this. So visual and, of course, colorful.. but not in obvious ways if that makes sense. ;) There is depth of color, textured and varied. My favorite thoughts:

"the silver one with the fresh point to bring back

a sweet shower...

or the whites, creams, and ivories of a winter
snow, or use the whole box to dot on spring

flowers."

Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing this!

HI Pea, and I echo Sage's comments because she it best. But you forgot the most enjoyable color of them all...yellow, because it is the color of the sun that makes for a happy day. Thank you Pea for sharing this wonderfully, delightful piece about the colors around us.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your sister, Barbie

An explosion of the color wheel on Pea's palette! You didn't mention Green - the last name of a beautiful, kind, and caring woman Phyllis, who we are forever proud and privileged to be in the den company - a colorful personality that is tie-dyed into my soul - I love you the best, you know...be well you and Ray. Blessed Be.

Very nice. One wonders if we can go back to our youth where no problems existed. There is a page on my personal site asking the same thing! It is called Memories.
