Guess it's obvious that this ditty evolved out of the 'surfer haiku' I posted. With a holiday in the wings, I figure it's time for a bit of virtual R&R involving sand and sea -- little light verse on the side? Thank you for joining me. Makes for a great weekend! xOx Pea x0x

Poem Artwork

Poets gather to surf, some practicing
looking cool, others gesticulating
the Big One is coming. Our dream
of hanging ten is tickling the sea,
and she goes all, like, hysterical on us, y'know?
Gives us the stink-eye, doesn't she?
But does she have the moves!
 Swells are, like, totally awesome,
As for the way she throws back her head
 and laughs from her belly,

     doooooooooooooooooooood!
 .

This is GREAT! I like the way she throws her head back! Does she have to make it SO obvious? LOL!

This brings back memories of growing up near the beach in Southern California. I had many surfer friends who were obsessed with the sport and spent every waking hour on their boards waiting for that perfect wave. Nice write.
