Dust mites, they are called.
Add them to the skin that sluffs,
talking astronomical.
Hair scales the number high enough
to prove birds and fish are us.
What is comical is the pantheon
of tricks our mite minds stumble on
to deny our own flesh.
All natural ingredients, so why
do our eyes run and our noses stuff?
Being human, we blame animals
we call low. As if four legs
and a tongue that can't lie
produce dirt, and we don't.
No wonder we are allergic
to ourselves.
