The hardest thing to understand is why we can understand anything at all - Albert Einstein

Lexiconic blizzards iced Earth's organic ages,

Alphabetic soup, springs in the wells of time,

Double-helix of life read by wise DNA sages,

Unscrewed the words of reason and rhyme.

Lord's men trampled carpets of verdant land,

Larcenous lost caterpillars frustration driven,

Locusts-like purloined Walt's leaves of grass,

Letters emptied of paradise spell unforgiven.

So we put ears to the road for music unheard,

Notes in time flew straight like Artemis' arrows,

True love metamorphosed the ravenous worms,

Into winged beats of butterflies and sparrows.

Mothers bounced loved babies between knees,

Milk, eggs, and cheese, gave energy at length,

Spinach, collards, rutabagas and turnip greens,

Ambulatory vegetables raw, stir-fried strength.

Two parents started the  process of  reproduction,

Not a monkey's uncle hanging by prehensiled tail,

Despite Darwin's inspired trip of logical deduction,

Man danced onto life's stage in top hat and tails.

We were star-burst into life like a shot from a gun,

Hearts fibrillating to dancing, twinkling stars above,

Soaring higher and higher like eagles riding on wind,

Zooming skyward till exploding into showers of love.

The mind of a Poet is a creative engine of beauty, wonders and grace to diffuse love, harmony; to learn and to teach; to instruct Solons and to inspire kings and Sovereign queens; to defend art and the language; and to stimulate intuition and imagination.

"Strands of Life" does comply with the heart of Poetry in its universality.

I must congratulate You for this composition that certainly ~ if read by Aristotle, Hesiod, Homer and Shakespeare, would receive their comments with respect and admiration.

I have noticed that You have learned the technical flow, compass, rhythm and scientific voice of one of American Fine Letters' most expressive Author and Poet, R. Leland Waldrip, author of VIGILANT VIRUS, and SATIN VERSES; and that means that You are on the right road to develop a poetic voice that makes Mother Poet Proud.

I am very privileged to track You, and see how You peer with the true Poets of our time, enrich the history of Poetry, honor Your pen, Your language, and Your readers.

Your proud reader,

Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU

The man and the poet, the philosopher and the scribe, and a sudden trip into what man is and what man is made of.
Uniting Einstein with Artemis and Darwin prehensile tail, the poem describes our pathetic little place in Universes vastness.
A compelling poem.

The beauty and rhythm of the words are matched only by the truth of the wisdom spoken, Rockie. A treasury of verse you've given us my friend. Thank you.

W O W!!! Fantastic writing! Evolution takes a lot of faith.
Just as you portray him, when God first created man, man was carefree, working tirelessly, loving life, walking with his Creator. I love the joy in this poem!

Rockie this was one powerful write, what an amazing way we were created, not from a Monkey but from the dust in the ground, and most importantly from The Heavenly's Fathers love.

matter, with Darwin.) Beautifully done, Starman. =gene.
