Fall is just around the corner. It used to make me sad. But when thinking about it this morning I felt exhilarated and this poem came to me.
AN AUTUMN MORN Have you ever seen the beauty that Lies around us all? The flowers in the meadow, The trees in the fall? When gazing out across the field The birds all seem to scatter When clouds and thunder roll on by Never heard such a clatter. The many colors of the leaves The locust chirping in the trees. When fall is lurking in the air A nightly chill, but don’t despair. The morning sun will shine at last The chilly night air in the past. The autumn leaves begin to fall, Reminding everyone. The winter isn’t far away, But don’t despair my friend. The Lord will shine His face On us, He loves us without end. KATHRYN NEFF PERRY August 26, 2008 © All rights reserved. copyright 2008
